The Department of Sports and Tourism will open 30 venues in Luzhniki on City Day. Moreover, two concerts will be held as part of the program: “Big Rap” and popular and electronic music.

The 6th stage of the Russian Cup 2018 in the Electric SUV model classes will be held on a track of more than 500 square meters, built according to all the rules of the European Federation EFRA. All festival visitors will be able to try their hand at racing.
The Moscow Mayor's Workout Cup will be held on a separate site, where more than 100 participants will compete among themselves in four disciplines: gimbar, basebattles 1x1, powerlifting, absolute mixed style. At the same time, the Russian Strongman Cup will be held in weight categories - the world mixed martial arts star Jeff Monson will be a special guest. Also, as part of City Day, Luzhniki will host a Fitness Festival and the Moscow Ethnosport Festival. A sports and social event – “World Pull-Up Day” – will take place at the site next door. Last year, more than 30 thousand people from Europe, Asia, Africa, the USA and Australia took part in the event, in total they performed more than half a million pull-ups. The winner was Russia, where 9 thousand participants pulled themselves up 122 thousand times.
As part of the program, two separate zones will be dedicated to such musical trends as rap and pop-techno music. At the “Big Rap” concert, Max Korzh, Casta, NoizeMC, 25/17, ATL, Eldzhey, Vander Phil and others will perform. At the Prestige Alley, as part of a concert of popular and electronic music, there will be performances by such popular artists as Anna Sedokova, Misha Marvin, Denis Klyaver, Anna Pletneva, Olga Buzova and others. Opening hours of concert venues are from 14:00 to 22:00.
More than 1,500 amateur athletes will take part in the VII annual Festival of student and youth sports “ASMS FEST”, during which guests will enjoy competitions and demonstration performances in 4x4 volleyball, 5x5 football, arm wrestling, cheerleading, jumpball (volleyball on a trampoline). For spectators, fans and everyone else, a lounge area with comfortable ottomans, the most popular attractions and sports competitions will be organized.
A separate block of events will be dedicated to radio-controlled drones (quadcopters): guests will have a unique opportunity to undergo piloting training and take part in races. The 2016 World Championship medalist Vladimir Meshcheryakov will take part in the competition.
For visitors with children, family starts, a children's playground, a scooter park, table tennis, tire throwing, etc. will be organized.
Opening hours for sports grounds are from 11:00 to 19:00.

The sports festival “City Day in Luzhniki” has been held by the Department of Sports and Tourism annually since 2011. The entire infrastructure of the sports complex is designed for more than 200 thousand spectators.

The program starts on Saturday, September 9, with the opening ceremony of the holiday at 12:00 on Red Square - everyone will be able to see it on TV, as the ceremony will be broadcast on Channel One. A little further, on a specially installed podium, you can learn the basics of yoga in hammocks, and also try yourself in hatha yoga. The classes are designed for beginners and can be attended by a couple or even with children.
Here you can also practice slacklining or, more simply put, tightrope walking. Anyone who wants to feel like a circus performer will be taught how to balance on a tightrope by real professionals. In addition to master classes, there will also be demonstration performances of tightrope walkers.
Even more entertainment awaits guests of the holiday on the site in front of the Moscow Hotel (the intersection of Okhotny Ryad and Mokhovaya streets with Tverskaya).
For the first time in the capital, on City Day, you will be able to see a show in a motorbike - a large mesh sphere, inside which professional motorcyclists will show their tricks at high speed.
On the same site they will install “ aerial trapeze", a metal crossbar attached to long cables. Here, in the “Flying Show”, there will be performances by professional athletes who will also conduct master classes for guests of the holiday.
There will also be a “skateboard bowl” installed here, a special structure with upward curved edges that looks like an outdoor swimming pool. This facility, designed for performances by professional skateboarders, will also be available for free skating.
For jumping on BMX bicycles, mountain bikes and scooters, a special springboard 9 meters high was built. Here you can see demonstrations and competitions among amateurs and professionals. Shows and competitions are also planned at the Skate Park, a special structure designed for scooter jumping.
For the first time, at Moscow City Day, everyone will be able to become an expert in the “What? Where? When?". Four teams will take part in this game.
The presenter, who will be one of the famous experts of this club, will ask the players a question. After a minute of discussion, each team writes down the answer to the question on a special form, which is given to the facilitator.
For a correct answer, the team will receive one point. 12 questions will be asked. The command that gave greatest number correct answers will be the winner. To participate in this game you must first register.
The festival's theatrical program will be no less extensive. Thus, the famous street theater “Fura del Bausch” and the Xarxa Teatr from Spain will present their productions in Luzhniki.

Last year, Moscow City Day marked the end of the Flower Jam festival, where the celebration of the capital’s anniversary took place.
On the streets and squares of Moscow are presented compositions by designers who became nominees and winners of the Flower Jam competition:

On City Day in Moscow in 2018, residents and guests of the city will enjoy many interesting events. The dates for Moscow City Day 2018 are already known; these are the second September weekend, September 8 and 9.
Also, on Sunday, September 9, elections for the mayor of Moscow will take place. In 2018, Moscow will celebrate its 871st birthday. They began preparing for City Day several months in advance, and it is already clear that a bright and interesting program awaits Muscovites and guests of the capital. Tverskaya Street will become pedestrian on Moscow Day.
Which artists will perform on Moscow Day 2018
A real gift awaits lovers of classical music. On September 8, from 12:00 to 21:00, the best classical groups of Moscow will perform at the walls of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the most famous works will be performed by a symphony orchestra, and choral ensembles will present a separate program.
September 8 and 9, 2018 Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theater named after. YES. Hvorostovsky will give performances in Moscow at the Flower Jam festival during the celebration of City Day. Residents of the capital will be the first to see the updated version of Igor Stravinsky’s ballet “The Rite of Spring” staged by Sergei Bobrov.
And on Manezhnaya Square you will be able to see street performances by Russian and foreign theater groups.
One of the most significant and popular places for celebration is Poklonnaya Hill. Everyone will be able to listen to concerts dedicated to the city day, see performances of vocal, instrumental and dance groups, as well as popular artists. The evening will end with a concert program from “Road Radio”.
Poklonnaya Gora (or Victory Park) - memorial park in Moscow, created to glorify and perpetuate the memory of those killed and missing in the Great Patriotic War. Citizens of Russia come here from all over the country to pay tribute to the defenders of the Fatherland.
Poklonnaya Hill is one of the main venues for city celebrations. The busy daytime holiday program will be continued by large evening pop concerts.
8 September Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Katya Lel, Sati Casanova, Roman Arkhipov, Nikolai Trubach, “Buranovskie Babushki”, Guzel Khasanova and Victor Drobysh, Tatyana Ovsienko will perform. At the end of the evening, festive fireworks will shine in the sky.
9th of September Anna Semenovich, Sogdiana, Alexander Aivazov, Viktor Rybin, Natalya Senchukova, Elena Terleeva and many others will sing.
The culmination of the celebration of the 871st anniversary of the capital will be Festive fireworks in honor of City Day will be launched from about 30 city sites in all districts of Moscow.
