Today's youth are accustomed to luxury. Today's youth are accustomed to luxury, it is different

"Today's youth are accustomed to luxury, they have bad manners, despise authority, do not respect elders. Children argue with their parents, greedily swallow food and harass teachers." Socrates.
Two and a half thousand years have passed... So what?

[top of the day] [top of the week] [top of the month] [random joke]

The issue of youth was discussed in the English Parliament. The speaker read out four statements from the podium different people about youth. Here they are, these statements:

Our youth loves luxury, they are poorly educated, they mock their superiors and have no respect for the elderly. Our current children have become tyrants, they do not get up when someone comes into the room old man, talk back to your parents. Simply put, they are very bad.

I have lost all hope for the future of our country if the youth of today take the reins of power tomorrow, because these youth are unbearable, uncontrollable, simply terrible.

Our world has reached a critical stage. Children no longer listen to their parents. Apparently, the end of the world is not very far away.

These youth are corrupted to the core. Young people are malicious and negligent. They will never be like the youth of yore. The younger generation of today will not be able to preserve our culture.

All these sayings about youth, about a hopeless future were met with applause in parliament. Then the speaker revealed his cards. It turns out that the first saying belongs to Socrates, the second to Hesiod, the third to an Egyptian priest, and the fourth was found in a clay pot in the ruins of Babylon, and the age of the pot is 3000 years.

As a child, two things bothered me: my parents forced me to go to bed in the evening, and for some reason they woke me up in the morning. Thirty years have passed. Today two things bother me - in the evening the children will not calm down, and in the morning you will wake them up...

Today's youth, who keep up with the times and are brought up on digital technology and various media information, they will probably think that the “bobbin” is just a fat woman...

Dentist:
- This tooth needs to be removed!
- And how much will it cost?
- Two thousand.
- Two thousand for three minutes of work?
- Whatever you say, I can drag it slowly.

This story is pure truth.
I was once on a train, and a guy and a girl were sitting opposite, both 16-17 years old, no more. And the guy tells the girl (so enthusiastically, with delight): “I watched such a cool movie yesterday! There, an old man fell in love with a girl, paid her uncle to hire three bandits to steal this girl. And some guy also fell in love with her , and he kept interfering with them, and then he was tricked into this business, and then he rescued this girl from that old man, and they put him in a mental hospital..." (I, of course, convey this story in a literary adaptation, but in general and in general everything sounded exactly like that).
Now guess three times what kind of movie it was? And not an American action movie at all! ?
I’ll give you a hint: this is a classic of Soviet cinema.
Did you guess it? That's right, "Prisoner of the Caucasus"!
Oh, these youth of today...

The woman was waiting for the man. She already knew something in this life. Therefore, she added a little taste improver to the food. And she put two bottles of beauty enhancer on the table.

Once the singing teacher in the class asked us: “Children, who wants to sing in the choir?” There were no volunteers... Thirty years passed, we gathered for a meeting of classmates in a karaoke bar. And then suddenly everyone burst through...

Citizens parents! Remember that small children left unattended are...
They become little parents very quickly!

- Sorry, but are you an idiot?
– Actually, I grew up in a family of teachers!
- Do not lie! There are no such fat children in teachers' families!

xxx: And I once went to pick up my girlfriend, and they came to clean her apartment, and we wanted so much privacy, so I said, “It’s Saturday to wash the floor - to go to the dead man,” they let her go, and then I found out twenty years have passed, they keep the tradition and the children them and their relatives.

Question to the programmer:
- Why do your children constantly argue?
- Well... different versions.

The famous Hollywood film star came on tour to Paris and found out that not far from Eiffel Tower a very good photographer works. She turned to him and he took a photograph that she really liked...
25 years passed... She found herself in Paris again, remembered her photographer, found him, and he again took a photograph of her. But this time she liked the photo much less, and she directly told the photographer about it. To which the old Parisian subtly and tactfully answered her - “Madam, in last time I was 25 years younger!..."

Two friends talking on the phone:
- Well, what is your husband doing now?
- He's lying in bed. He has thirty-seven and a half.
- Wow! I envy you, friend!

Conversation between teacher and parents:
- Your children are like flowers in spring.
- Oh thanks!
- The bastards have let loose!

A billionaire dies, gathers his sons and says:
- My children! I spent half of my fortune on women and booze, and used the other half very unwisely.

Just some 10 years ago I had a computer three and a half times weaker than the current mobile phone...

A guy comes to the great martial arts master and says:
- oh, great master, become my teacher
- to become my student you must train your will... go and come back in 2 years
*two years have passed*
- oh, great master, I trained my will for two years, become my teacher
- to become my student you must be patient... go and come back in 5 years
*5 years later*
- oh, great master, I have been gaining patience for five years, become my teacher
- to become my student you must learn to hang in the air at a height of 5 meters... go and come back in 10 years
*10 years have passed*
- oh, great master, I spent ten years learning to hover in the air at a height of 5 meters and was able to do it, become my teacher
- well, I don’t give a damn...

Question to the government: Why, how to buy beer, all children under 18 years of age. How about free travel, so are children only under 7 years old?

Darling, maybe it’s time for you to introduce me to your parents?
- So, let me think, the children are with the mother-in-law, the wife went on vacation for the entire vacation...

“Today’s youth are accustomed to luxury, they have bad manners, despise authority, do not respect elders, children argue with adults, greedily swallow food, and harass teachers.” (Socrates)

Goal: to develop an action plan aimed at the safety of students and teachers within the framework of educational process. Objectives: 1. Analyze cases of attacks on students and teachers in educational institutions RF; 2. Consider the typology of aggressive behavior and its manifestations; 3. Develop measures to combat aggression among schoolchildren.

What is aggression? 1. Any form of behavior intended to insult or harm another living being who does not want such treatment. 2. A pattern of behavior, not an emotion or motive.

The main causes of aggression: Genetics. The presence of a certain gene determines the aggressiveness of a person’s behavior. Aggression is innate. Psychology. Aggressive behavior manifests itself as a reaction to a blockage on the path to a goal. Sociology. The connection between a person’s aggressive behavior and initiative – inheriting the example of other members of society. Biology. Aggressive behavior acts as a mechanism for “defending one’s territory.”

School aggression is a type of aggression that involves the use of force between children or teachers in relation to students or - which is extremely rare in our culture - students in relation to the teacher.

Bullying is a mockery. Persecutors, “Hooligans,” isolate and attack one or more defenseless schoolchildren from the school community.

Factors provoking aggression in educational institutions Life experience: early manifestation of aggression. Inability to communicate (lack of communication) Intrapersonal aggressiveness of students The situation in the educational institution

How does aggression occur? The desire to attract the attention of peers; get the desired result; to be in charge; protection and revenge; emphasize your superiority, but at the same time infringe on the dignity of others.

Types of school violence Emotional violence causes emotional stress in the student, humiliates him and lowers his self-esteem Ridicule, giving nicknames, humiliation in the presence of other children Rejection, refusal to communicate with the child

Personal characteristics of the attackers: * aggressive towards parents, teachers, peers; * not fearful “macho”; * thinks the victim deserves punishment; *little sympathy and guilt.

KLASS Joosep is an outcast in class. His classmates tease him and threaten him physically. In sports, on the court and even in the classroom, he is the target of their attacks, severe physical violence. Only one of the crowd, Kaspar, refuses to humiliate him. Now they are both victims. Finally, they can no longer tolerate ridicule and decide to take a bold action. Josep decides, together with Kaspar, to punish all those responsible. He says that everyone who did something bad to them and who saw it all, but was silent and saw, must die. They shoot people in the dining room, and then Josep kills himself. According to the director himself, the plot of the film was inspired by events in American school Columbine, when two teenagers shot and killed 13 people at their school and then committed suicide. The film is divided into seven parts - seven days of the life of the main characters in this school. In 2010, a 7-episode continuation of “Class: Life After” was released on Estonian television.

The Columbine High School massacre is one of the largest massacres in educational institutions in the United States, which occurred on April 20, 1999 at Columbine High School. High school students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold opened fire on students and school staff, wounding thirty-seven people, thirteen of whom died. Both shooters subsequently committed suicide. The Jonesboro High School Massacre was a crime committed by two teenagers, 11-year-old Andrew Golden and 13-year-old Johnson Mitchell, at a school in Jonesboro in the United States of America on March 24, 1998, resulting in the deaths of 4 students at the school and a teacher. The Red Lake School massacre occurred in Minnesota, USA, on March 21, 2005. School student Jeffrey Weese shot and killed 9 people and committed suicide. (It is known that Jeffrey was an outcast at school and was often bullied by his classmates because of his appearance. Since Wiz often wore black clothes, he had the nickname "goth boy".) The Winnenden massacre was an event that took place on March 11, 2009 at the Albertville-Realschule school in the town of Winnenden, then in the neighboring town of Wendlingen, Germany, as a result of which 16 people were killed, including the shooter himself, 17-year-old Tim Kretschmer, a former high school graduate. Eleven people were injured and hospitalized.

Violence in games named as a cause of youth aggression The world's largest association of psychologists - the American APA - has concluded that video games with elements of violence have a negative impact on children and youth. "By showing violent acts without consequences, games teach young people that violence is effective means conflict resolution," said APA psychologist Elizabeth Carll. According to her, having "played enough" with violence, adolescents may want to continue experimenting with aggression in real life. According to the police, the 17-year-old boy who organized carnage in Winnenden, Baden-Württemberg, he often played the popular shooting game “Counter Strike”, which is based on the motives of war and violence. By the way, “Counter Strike” was the favorite game of 19-year-old Erfurt gymnasium student Robert Steinhäuser, who 15 minutes before the shooting of students and teachers, I was playing this game on the computer at home.

Activities aimed at uniting the school staff 1. Improvement psychological climate at school 2. System of collective creative activity

Teaching decision making and coping skills life problems; skills in assessing a social situation and taking responsibility for one’s own behavior in it; perception skills, self-protection skills, self-support and mutual support; conflict-free and effective communication skills

New ones needed educational technologies, such as business and role-playing games, psychological trainings. Any joint. The activities of schoolchildren and adults (if properly organized, of course) can significantly change the system of existing relationships.

Expected results As a result, schoolchildren will demonstrate: An attitude towards tolerant interaction between people who have cultural, social, political and other differences. Raising middle school children school age rejection of cruelty, violence towards nature, people, and the entire world around us. Understanding the need to create a tolerant environment in educational institution Practical abilities and skills of tolerant interaction Development of communication abilities as the main sign of a person with a tolerant consciousness Skills in organizing tolerant interaction (communication) and communication with other people Knowledge of methods, methods and techniques of tolerant communication. Consolidation and coordination of activities of the school, family, and community.

Good evening everyone. Again, I forgot everything, but the notes in Moscow remained:(. The quote is spinning in my head and doesn’t let me sleep. It’s an ancient inscription, but which one? Where? It all flew out of my holey head. Tell me. Don’t let it go to waste:)
"Today's youth do not respect authorities..."
And there is even further long grumbling on this topic...

28-10-2008, 23:47

I found the quote myself, here it is:
"Today's youth are accustomed to luxury. They have bad manners,
despises authorities and does not respect elders. Children argue with parents, greedily
They swallow food and harass teachers."
BUT! If you have any questions, please help me resolve them. According to some sources, Pharaoh Amenhotep III ordered this inscription to be carved on his tomb (I have not yet been able to find confirmation of this). Most people on the Internet, when quoting, write that the author is Socrates. But Socrates himself did not write anything. I rummaged through Plato and Xenophon. No (at least I didn’t find it, and I don’t have any good publications at hand, alas). So who is the author? :) Where is the quote from?
Thanks if anyone decides to help :)

I get the impression that this is my quote :) I can’t just throw out a word - about my teenage son :))
Sorry for being off topic.

“Today’s youth are accustomed to luxury, they have bad manners, despise authority, do not respect elders, children argue with adults, greedily swallow food, and harass teachers.”

(Socrates, 5th century BC)

“I have lost all hope for the future of our country if the youth of today take the reins of power tomorrow. For these youth are unbearable, uncontrollable, simply terrible,” Geosides said in 720 BC. e.
“Today's youth are accustomed to luxury, they have bad manners, despise authority, and do not respect their elders. Children argue with their parents, greedily swallow food and harass teachers,” Socrates supported him three hundred years later.

Cool! Good topic, makes you look at many things differently :))
Can I add an optimistic quote?

“The youth of today are truly terrible. But the worst thing is that we no longer belong to them.”
Picasso Pablo

"Today's youth are accustomed to luxury. They have bad manners, despise authority, do not respect elders. Children argue with their parents, greedily swallow food and harass teachers." Socrates said it

Here's a little more:
Eh, youth...

Speaking before the general meeting of the Medical Society of Dortmund (England), Dr. Ronald Gibson began his report with four quotes.

Quote first.
“Our youth loves luxury, they are poorly educated, they mock their superiors and have no respect for the elderly. Our children today have become tyrants; they do not stand up when an elderly person enters the room,
talk back to your parents. Simply put, they are very bad."

Quote two.
"I have lost all hope for the future of our country if
Today's youth will take the reins of power into their hands tomorrow, because these youth are unbearable, uncontrollable, simply terrible."

Quote three.
"Our world has reached a critical stage. Children no longer obey their
parents. Apparently, the end of the world is not very far away."

Quote four.
"These youth are corrupted to the core. Young people are malicious and
careless. They will never be like the youth of old times.
The younger generation of today will not be able to preserve our culture."

After some of the audience burst into applause, Dr.
Gibson revealed the names of the authors of the quotes. The first is borrowed from Socrates
(470-399 BC); the second by Hesiod (c. 720 BC); third
The saying belongs to an Egyptian priest who lived 2000 BC. e. ; the fourth was discovered quite recently on a clay pot found among the ruins of Babylon. How old is this pot? over 3000 years.

Yes, for some reason they usually write/say that the quote belongs to Socrates. But no one gives the exact link. Socrates didn't write anything. As far as I know (correct me), Plato and Xenophon wrote about him from his contemporaries. But I didn’t find this quote from them (maybe I didn’t search well, then help me, experts: flower:). In terms of style, it doesn’t seem to me that this is Socrates (but I’m not an expert, just an amateur). That's what I want to figure out. When was this attributed to him and by whom? Maybe even during the Renaissance? Or such a myth... I haven’t made any progress myself yet :(. Thanks to everyone. And the topic is really relevant :))
