The Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) is one of the largest and oldest technical universities in Europe. In 2014 it was recognized as the best technical university in the Czech Republic. Currently, CTU has eight faculties and one charter, with about 20,000 students.

IT at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of ChVUT

Many applicants who are interested in IT enroll in Faculty of Electrical Engineering of ChVUT for the “Open Informatics” program. The admissions campaign is proceeding early. Submission of application – until November 30. The first round of entrance exams takes place in January, the second round in March. For admission to architecture faculty you can prepare according to the program .

Round 1 consists of 4 independent parts.
1) Fine exam of 3 tasks:
– realistic pencil drawing of a still life composed of basic geometric shapes, A2 format;
– abstract composition of given geometric shapes, color sketch in perspective, A3 format
– perspective image (10 points). Based on the given plan, create a drawing in perspective of a 3D object from the point of view standing man., A3 format
2) Test of spatial thinking (10 points) – exam aimed at working with rectangular projections and stereometry
3) General Knowledge Test (10 points) - includes questions related to architecture, landscape architecture and design.
4) Test General prerequisites for training OSP SCIO (15 points). Overall result test will be converted into scores. You must receive at least 1 point for this part.
The commission will set a minimum number of points for acceptance without oral interview and the minimum number of points required to advance to the second round.

Round 2 – oral interview
The oral part of the exam will test the applicant’s interest in the specialty and general knowledge of the specialty (architecture, knowledge in the field of culture) - the level of knowledge, ability to argue and communicate will be assessed.
Applicants submit to the commission a maximum of 15 original homework or school work. Maximum format A1. Works in the field of fine arts, architecture, landscape architecture or design.

Statistics: out of 470 applicants, 355 are accepted.

B1 in January, B2 in June

For the exam in January, a foreign applicant must bring at least a certificate of knowledge of the Czech language at level B1, in which case in June he will need to bring a certificate of knowledge of the Czech language at level B2. The Czech language exam can be taken at the Faculty of Architecture of CTU.

Studying at the Faculty of Transport of ChVUT is organized in such a way that all students are admitted to the bachelor's degree on a general basis. curriculum“Engineering and technology in transport and transport communications”, and are enrolled in a specific specialty in the 2nd year (before the start of the 4th semester). Theoretical training within the undergraduate specialty “Professional Pilot” is free. Practical training will cost approximately CZK 950,000 (total for all three years of study).

The Faculty of Transport of CTU also has a branch in Decin. Admission to the department in Decin does not require entrance exams.
