— The “Electronic (Intellectual) University” system is designed to automate management educational process, research activities, financial and economic processes to ensure the life of the university, and most importantly - through the openness of the system for applicants, students and teachers - ensures their full integration into the life of the university. The system allows you to use all the university resources at any time and almost anywhere where there is Internet access. The result of our work will be the creation of an integrated environment that will provide students and teachers throughout their studies and stay on campus with modern technological solutions and tools at the level of the world's leading universities.

— I wonder how the “Electronic University” system itself works?

— The entire system is based on a single integrated bus with a common database. The single key that allows you to gain access to all university resources is a contactless chip integrated with a bank card - this is the so-called campus card, which every student and employee of the university has. The campus card provides access to all campus infrastructure facilities - from a pass to the university campus and an appointment with a doctor in medical center before printing the dissertation on a powerful printing device.

The peculiarity of the system being created is that it covers absolutely all aspects of life at the university. All educational resources and “campus” services of the university are fully accessible to any student and employee who connects to the Internet portal of the “Electronic University”. Figuratively, the system allows teachers and students to have all the information about the situation at the university “at their fingertips.”

— At what stage is the implementation of the plan now? What has the Electronic University project team already managed to do?

— The implementation of the “Electronic University” began in 2011 with the transition to electronic document management. Today this will not surprise advanced universities, but in those four universities that were part of FEFU, there was no electronic document management. Already last year at FEFU, the creation, coordination, signing, and control over the execution of all documents took place electronically. Also, a system for ordering certificates, for example, about income, through the internal campus portal has already been prepared for launch. You only need to go to the accounting department to pick up the finished document.

The Anti-Plagiarism module of the integrated platform has been launched e-learning Blackboard - we plan to use it for collection and verification written works for plagiarism. Student registration has also been launched, work is underway to enter curricula for subsequent launch of the calculation module study load. Trial operation of subsystems has begun in terms of recording results scientific activity and objects of intellectual property. A distributed printing system has been launched: in the coming days in the educational building on the street. Mordovtseva, 12 on the ground floor, FEFU students and employees will be able to start using a multifunctional device for printing, scanning and copying documents, which only works after authorization using a campus card.

Everyone has already received the mentioned campus card several times when applying to FEFU for work or study. It is simultaneously a pass to university buildings, an official identification card, a student card, a library card, and a bank card where salaries and stipends are credited. At the same time, each student and teacher acquires a single FEFU account, which serves as a means of identification in all information systems.

— Are we talking about a “personal account”? Tell us in more detail, what useful functions does this system have for university teachers and students?

— “Personal Account” is multifunctional. First of all, it is a channel for receiving official information. Through “personal accounts” you can communicate information that is traditionally posted on bulletin boards: to students - about session dates, changes in the schedule; teachers - about general meetings and opportunities for obtaining grants. It would seem that all this could be posted on a university-wide website, but in this case, each category of users receives information intended specifically for it.

Besides, " Personal Area"is also a new format of communication, an analogue social network. Any user here can organize communities, inviting new members there. By the way, through your “personal account” you can also go to the electronic library catalog to select literature both in a regular university library and in a digital one (FEFU has a large collection of electronic full-text publications). In the latter case e-book You can download it right away, but you still have to go to the library to get a paper copy.

Currently, programs are being downloaded to students’ “personal accounts” training courses, bibliography with annotations, full-text electronic teaching aids. Teachers post scientific publications in their “personal accounts” - this is also necessary for compiling a rating.

— In the near future, FEFU will begin moving to a new campus on the island. Russian. What opportunities does the Electronic University open in terms of organization? educational process students and teachers of FEFU after moving?

— Our main task is to bring teaching at FEFU to a new level with the help of the Electronic University. 100% of the classrooms on the new campus are equipped with multimedia equipment that provides demonstration of educational content, video recording of lectures, broadcast of what is happening in the classroom and video conferencing with support for “virtual” classes. In the “Electronic University” the line between distance learning and real learning is blurred. If a student is registered in the system, he will be able to watch all lectures online. Moreover, the video archive of all lectures is stored in the university’s data center, which means that the student will be able to independently listen to a course of lectures from any teacher of his choice. It's interesting that the new one reading room campus will allow you to abandon paper “requirements”: it will be enough to find through your “personal account” the right book and reserve it - the next day the book will be waiting for the customer at the book lending counter.

— Ilya Olegovich, according to your forecast: when will the “Electronic University” become fully operational at FEFU?

— The main subsystems of the “Electronic University” are planned to be launched in September 2013, by the time the educational process begins at the new FEFU campus on the island. Russian.
