The Academy of Budget and Treasury of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation is a Federal State educational institution higher professional education.

In 1988, by decision of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Intersectoral Institute for Advanced Training of Financial and Banking Workers was created under the Ministry of Finance, which was subsequently transformed into Financial Institute for Advanced Studies.

1996 was the year the Academy began its activities. By Order of the Government of the Russian Federation dated July 18, 1996 No. 1151-r, the Academy of Budget and Treasury of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation (ABiK) was created on the basis of the Financial Institute for Advanced Studies and a university education program was determined.

The Academy was organized to implement educational programs on training, professional retraining and advanced training of specialists in the field of budget and budget process, treasury, financial control, taxation, financial market, accounting and audit, banking, insurance, financial management, state and municipal administration, state and municipal finance and other disciplines for federal executive authorities, executive authorities of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, local governments, as well as enterprises and organizations.

The founder of the Academy is the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

The Academy has developed a multi-level system of continuous education, which includes the following stages of training:

Secondary vocational education;

Pre-university specialized preparation of schoolchildren for admission to the Academy;

University training (bachelor – certified specialist – master);

Postgraduate and doctoral studies;

Second professional higher education;

Short-term retraining and advanced training of specialists.

At the moment, the Academy has two branches: Kaluga and Omsk, 10 branches of financial and economic colleges: Vladikavkaz, Kanash, Makhachkala, Moscow, Omsk, St. Petersburg, Surgut, Shadrinsky, Yuryev-Polsky, Yakutsk; as well as 11 representative offices: Arkhangelsk, Volgograd, Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Penza, Petrozavodsk, Saratov, Smolensk, Stavropol, Syktyvkar and Tula. The Academy also includes the Research Financial Institute (NIFI), whose main activity is the development of financial science, the development of recommendations for solutions current problems financial support for sustainable socio-economic development of the Russian Federation and promoting the results of research into the educational activities of the Academy.
