American scientists considered this arrangement of the planets anomalous, because in our solar system the smallest planets (Mercury, Venus and Earth) are closest to the star, and the largest (Jupiter and Saturn) are exactly in the middle.
As it turned out, scientists hastened to classify the open planetary system as anomalous, the study of 146 more star systems showed that in them, as in the Kepler-33 system, the planets were located from the largest at the star to the smallest at the periphery. It turned out that our solar system was anomalous! The hypothesis immediately arose that the planets in the solar system are arranged in such a strange anomalous order in an artificial way. Who could have done this and why?
Jupiter is a shield for planet Earth
The fifth planet from the Sun - the gas giant Jupiter - is in many ways a great mystery for scientists. It is in a completely atypical orbit for such a planet. As if someone specially arranged this planet so that it served as a cosmic shield for the Earth. Jupiter acts as a kind of "trap", intercepting objects that would otherwise have fallen into our planet.
Suffice it to recall the events of July 1994, when fragments of comet Shoemaker-Aevi crashed into Jupiter with great speed, the area of the explosions was then comparable to the diameter of our planet. And here are more recent cases. In 2009, Australian amateur astronomer Anthony Wesley observed an asteroid falling onto Jupiter. Wesley's data was confirmed by professional astronomers. On September 10, 2012, again, an amateur astronomer from the United States, George Hall, recorded the collision of Jupiter with a huge asteroid. If he fell to Earth, our civilization would cease to exist.
Although Jupiter is the main shield of the Earth, Saturn also helps him. According to the calculations of scientists, if these planets were absent in our solar system or they were in another place, there would be no intelligent life on Earth. Our planet would be "bombarded" a thousand times more often by asteroids and large meteorites, and every 10 thousand years a catastrophic collision would take place, putting life on the brink of destruction.
So, Jupiter is located in such a way that it actively protects our planet and life on it from comets and asteroids - killers. Is this a coincidence? Judging by other planetary systems, it is no coincidence. Relatively recently, scientists, proceeding from the existence of a large number of planetary systems with two luminaries, proposed a hypothesis that the second unrealized star in our solar system is Jupiter. It, like the Sun, consists of hydrogen and helium and already now gives off more energy into space than it receives from the Sun.
True, there is a hypothesis that Jupiter was already the sun, they say that in very ancient texts there are descriptions of two suns. Supporters of the hypothesis believe that Jupiter "turned off" the supercivilization that created our solar system. The question arises: why did she do it? It is believed to save the earth. Two luminaries could approach each other, the subsequent explosion would destroy our entire planetary system. Remembering the Sun, it is worth dwelling on the facts that directly indicate that amazing and mysterious events are taking place in our planetary planet. In 2005, an expert from the European Space Agency, Dutch astrophysicist Pierce van der Meer, said that there are signs of an impending catastrophe - the explosion of the Sun and the death of mankind. The scientist pointed out that the usual internal temperature of the Sun was 15 million degrees Celsius, and in 2005 it reached 27 million! The astrophysicist linked the process of global warming with the warming up of the Sun.
The scientist calculated that the explosion of the Sun will occur in 2011-2012. Fortunately, the disaster has passed us. Was Pierce van der Meer mistaken, or did some external forces interfere with the processes taking place on the Sun? What groups of planets exist
The planetary model of the solar system in dynamics shows us 8 planets, which are divided into 2 types: the terrestrial planets (these include: Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars) and the gas giant planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune).
This model demonstrates well the differences in the size of the planets. The planets of the same group share similar characteristics, ranging from structure to relative size, a detailed model of the solar system in proportions clearly demonstrates this.
Belts of asteroids and ice comets
In addition to planets, our system contains hundreds of satellites (one Jupiter has 62 of them), millions of asteroids and billions of comets. Also, between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, there is an asteroid belt and the interactive flash model of the solar system clearly demonstrates it.
Kuiper Belt
The belt remains from the time of the formation of the planetary system, and after the orbit of Neptune, the Kuiper belt extends, in which dozens of ice bodies are still hidden, some of which are even larger than Pluto.
And at a distance of 1-2 light years is the Oort cloud, a truly gigantic sphere encircling the Sun and representing the remnants of building material that was thrown out after the end of the formation of the planetary system. The Oort cloud is so large that we cannot show you its scale.
It regularly supplies us with long-period comets, which take about 100,000 years to reach the center of the system and delight us with their command. However, not all comets from the cloud survive an encounter with the Sun and last year's comet ISON fiasco is a vivid confirmation of this. It is a pity that this model of the flash system does not display such small objects as comets.
It would be wrong to ignore such an important group of celestial bodies, which was allocated into a separate taxonomy relatively recently, after the International Astronomical Union (MAC) held its famous session in 2006 on which the planet Pluto.
Prehistory of the discovery
And the prehistory began relatively recently, with the introduction of modern telescopes in the early 90s. In general, the beginning of the 90s was marked by a number of major technological breakthroughs.
Firstly It was at this time that the Edwin Hubble Orbital Telescope was put into operation, which, with its 2.4-meter mirror, brought out of the earth's atmosphere, discovered a completely amazing world inaccessible to ground-based telescopes.
Secondly, the qualitative development of computer and various optical systems allowed astronomers not only to build new telescopes, but also to significantly expand the capabilities of old ones. Through the use of digital cameras, which have completely replaced film. It became possible to accumulate light and keep records of almost every photon that fell on the sensor of the photodetector, with unattainable accuracy, and computer positioning and modern processing tools quickly transferred such an advanced science as astronomy to a new stage of development.
Alarm bells
Thanks to these successes, it became possible to discover celestial bodies, rather large in size, beyond the orbit of Neptune. These were the first “bells”. The situation became very aggravated at the beginning of the two thousandth, just then, in 2003-2004, Sedna and Eris were discovered, which, according to preliminary calculations, had the same size as Pluto, and Eris was completely superior to it.
Astronomers are at a dead end: either to admit that they discovered planet 10, or something is wrong with Pluto. And new discoveries were not long in coming. In 2005, it was discovered that, together in Kwavar, discovered back in June 2002, Ork and Varuna literally filled the trans-Neptunian space, which, beyond the orbit of Pluto, was previously considered almost empty.
International Astronomical Union
The International Astronomical Union convened in 2006 decided that Pluto, Eris, Haumea and Ceres, which joined them, belong to. Objects that were in orbital resonance with Neptune in a ratio of 2: 3 were called plutino, and all other objects in the Kuiper belt were called cubivano. Since then, you and I have only 8 planets left.

Today, the heliocentric model of the solar system is an immutable truth. But this was not always the case, until the Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus proposed the idea (which was expressed by Aristarchus) that the Sun does not revolve around the Earth, but vice versa. It should be remembered that some still think that Galileo created the first model of the solar system. But this is a delusion, Galileo only spoke out in defense of Copernicus.
Copernicus' model of the solar system was not to everyone's taste and many of his followers, such as the monk Giordano Bruno, were burned. But the model according to Ptolemy could not fully explain the observed celestial phenomena and the seeds of doubt, in the minds of people, were already planted. For example, the geocentric model was not able to fully explain the unevenness of the motion of celestial bodies, for example, the backward motion of the planets.
At different stages of history, there were many theories of the structure of our world. All of them were depicted in the form of drawings, diagrams, models. Nevertheless, time and achievements of scientific and technological progress have put everything in its place. And the heliocentric mathematical model of the solar system is already an axiom.

Our planetary system was not ignored either. Graphics specialists have developed a computer model of the solar system with the input of dates, which is available to everyone. It is an interactive application that displays the movement of planets around the sun. In addition, it shows how the largest satellites revolve around the planets. We can also see between Mars and Jupiter and the zodiacal constellations.
How to use the scheme
The movement of the planets and their satellites corresponds to their real daily and annual cycle. The model also takes into account the relative angular velocities and the initial conditions for the movement of space objects relative to each other. Therefore, at each moment of time, their relative position corresponds to the real one.
An interactive model of the solar system allows you to navigate in time using the calendar, which is depicted as an outer circle. The arrow on it indicates the current date. The speed of the passage of time can be changed by moving the slider in the upper left corner. It is also possible to turn on the display of the phases of the moon, and the dynamics of the lunar phases will be displayed in the lower left corner.
Some assumptions
It has only one drawback - the disproportionate size of objects and the distances between them. This is realized due to the fact that, while observing the scales, it is very difficult to estimate the dynamics of planetary motion.
