The military department at the university is what gives. Military department at the university. Interaction of civil and military specialties

Some applicants choosing federal university for getting higher education, pay attention to whether the educational institution has a military department. After all, universities with a military department allow students full-time learning to be prepared for military service and get an additional military specialty without interrupting the main study.

Currently, there are 35 universities with military departments in the country, as well as 33 universities with military training centers. On the military department prepare reserve officers. Military training centers train officers for contract service.

Students under 30 years of age who, for health reasons, are recognized as fit for military service, have the right to study at the military department. Students are recruited for the military department on a competitive basis. The Ministry of Defense enters into an agreement with each student on the training program for the training of reserve officers.

During two or three courses, students study a military specialty (classes are held once a week), then they undergo military training (one month), pass an exam, and they are awarded the rank of lieutenant in the reserve or senior lieutenant in the reserve. During their studies, such students receive an additional payment to the scholarship, and after graduation they are not subject to conscription.

Upon admission to military training centers(VUT) students no older than 24 years old, fit for military service, conclude a contract with the Ministry of Defense, according to which, after graduation, they are required to serve as an officer for three years. In the event of expulsion from the OTC or refusal to serve as an officer, students will have to reimburse the funds spent on his training at the center, and also serve on an equal basis with ordinary recruits for one year.

During their studies at the VUTC, young men are paid an additional scholarship.

Information for thought for those who think to do it.
Last year I was at a meeting for freshmen, where my parents were very worried about how things are with the draft after VK. If I'm not mistaken, about 20 people have shaved something over the past year.

Don't go, student, go for a walk in the army

(7 reasons why a student does not need to enter the military department)

If military service is a duty to the Motherland, then when did I manage to owe so much?

"A primo facie" of the average person to enter the military department is cool. The officer is great! Again, you see, the chances of getting into the army are less. Indeed, before entering the military department, the student was 90% sure that he escaped the fate of being drafted into our valiant armed forces. However, "Nihil simper suo statu mane". There are now 7 main reasons why a contract with a military department should be avoided.

1. The military department is the worst way to "skip" the army.
After graduation, in accordance with the agreement on training at the military department, you will be obliged to fulfill your obligations, i.e. to serve as an officer for two years. Admission to the military department is the worst way to realize the desire to free oneself from obligations to our humane and peace-loving state, which solves external and especially internal problems exclusively by peaceful means.

2. An officer can be called up at any time convenient for the military commissar. If the conscript is still somehow protected by the law by the collegiality (albeit formal) draft board and the limitation of the terms of conscription in spring and autumn, then for a reserve officer everything depends on the sole desire of the local military commissar. A reserve officer can be called up at any time only by the sole decision of the military commissar. Thus, you are deprived, albeit not very honest, but very effective way filing a complaint against the actions of the draft board in court and "dragging out" the case until the end of the draft.

3. Health.
The health requirements for an officer when called up for military service are not higher, but lower than those for a soldier. For example, with myopia - 6 diopters. an ordinary conscript will be examined in category "B" (limited fit for military service) and will be exempted from conscription. A conscript with the rank of an officer is already being certified as a contract soldier in category "B" (eligible with minor restrictions) and will be drafted. Conclusion: if you want to have more chances to get into the army, go to the military department.

4. The absence of some delays in the call.
When summoning a reserve officer, a number of so-called "social postponements". For example, an ordinary conscript with a child under 3 years old. or two children? has the right to a deferment, and the conscript officer will again be called up.

5. Inability to refuse conscientious service.
Since 2004, the law "On alternative civilian service" has come into force, according to which the term of service for university graduates is 1 year 6 months. or 1 year 9 months, depending on where the young man will serve who has chosen alternative civilian service. This is, albeit not much, but still less than the service life of a conscripted officer. You shouldn't have any problems with proving that you have a desire not to kill and not be killed (who said that a doctor on duty in a hot spot will not have to take Kalashnikov into his hands?). Since you have devoted 6 years of your life to the study of how to alleviate the suffering of a patient, it means that you are not indifferent to the pain of others and it is more important for you to help a specific person, and not to "give a debt" to the state. In the alternative service, you can work as a doctor in a civilian structure or as a civilian staff with the same doctor in a hospital. Only, unlike your fellow officer, you will not have a working day around the clock, like a military man! and the usual one - as in "civilian life".

6. Big load on studies.
The military department is extra hours. These are additional exams. The knowledge that a student of the military department receives is not of paramount importance for a doctor. In any case, you will study everything related to possible defeats in war in other, "peaceful" disciplines while you are studying in honey. university.

7. This sweet word "freedom"
Being a free person is cool! Can you be free in the army? Doubtful! The army is based on the absolute subordination of the junior in rank to the higher commanders. A military man is a very limited man in freedom

However, if you like to live on schedule. You prefer that your bosses think for you, you are tempted to spend the best years of your life in a not very reliable iron box called a "submarine", if you are ready to voluntarily give up your freedom for an extra piece of bread (or for underwear from MO), then this you. Just remember about the "free cheese"

    What gives training at the military department

    The main advantage that attracts young people to enroll in the military department at the university is that all students who have completed training in this division will receive the appropriate rank and are enrolled in the reserve of the Armed Forces Russian Federation, are not called up for military service and after graduation receive a military ID. However, graduates can be called up for short-term training and have the right to conclude a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on military service.

    Do not confuse the military department and the military training center!

    It is worth paying attention to the fact that the military department at the university and the military Training Center- different structures. Military training centers are training officers in civilian universities, using the scientific potential of the teaching staff of a civilian university and a modern material base for the purpose of high-quality training of specialists in the most demanded military registration specialties. Separated from graduates of military departments, after graduation from the UVTs, young people are required to undergo military service under a contract.

    In order not to receive unexpected consequences in the future, we recommend, when entering military training at a university, to find out which unit is functioning at an educational institution - a military department or a military training center. It is also worth knowing in advance all the nuances associated with the process of passing military training.

    How to enter the military department

    Students who have passed certain competitive selection can enter the military department. Selection criteria may vary slightly from institution to institution, but usually they include:

  • the student has Russian citizenship;
  • the degree of fitness for military service for health reasons;
  • professional psychological fitness for service in the RF Armed Forces;
  • the level of the student's physical fitness;
  • correspondence of the education received at the university to the military training program;
  • the level of performance in the main direction of study (specialty) at the university.

For admission you must:

  • write a corresponding application addressed to the rector in the form determined by the university;
  • undergo a medical examination;
  • pass the standards for physical fitness, usually they include tests for endurance (cross), strength (pulling up), speed and agility (running);
  • go through the procedure for obtaining admission to information constituting a state secret.

The order and terms of training at the military department

Students enrolled in the military department combine training in the main direction with military training. Military training usually carried out by the method of military day, lasting 8-9 hours, once a week.

The terms of study at the military department are:

  • under the training program for reserve officers - 2.5 years;
  • under the training program for reserve sergeants - 2 years;
  • under the training program for reserve soldiers - 1.5 years.

After completing the training course, military training sessions are held in the troops for 30 days. At the training camp, graduates take the military oath, and as a result of the training camp, they undergo final certification. Upon successful completion of all standards upon graduation from the university, along with a diploma, the young person is assigned a military rank and enrolled in the reserve The armed forces Russian Federation.

Which universities have military departments

According to data from the official website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, today military departments function at the 51st civilian universities in the country. A complete list of institutions can be found here.

You can also study in detail information about universities that have a military department or a military training center on the Go.Online portal in the section.

The military department is an excellent opportunity to avoid serving in the army for those who are not eager to pay their debt to the country, get serious physical skills, and then proudly answer the girls' questions about serving in the armed forces of the Russian Federation. Of course, the reasons why young people do not want to go to work can be different - from a pacifist worldview to poor physical characteristics. Also, a person is able to prefer training and subsequent career instead of push-ups, shooting and marches.

Currently in 37 higher educational institutions the country has a military department, which offers the opportunity to combine studies with training for (or instead of) serving in the army. These 37 universities are not very evenly distributed throughout the country and are located only in eight cities of Russia: Moscow (17), St. Petersburg (12), Novosibirsk (2), Nizhny Novgorod (2), Perm (1), Tyumen (1) , Yekaterinburg (1) and Chelyabinsk (1).

Upon admission to the department, students must understand that training at it is voluntary and is not included in the approved program of the educational institution.

And the refusal to stay on the "military" will not affect the deferral from military service received during the studies. This provision is regulated by Article 20 of the Federal Law "On Military Duty and Military Service".

At the end of the department, the student receives an officer's rank - usually a lieutenant - and becomes a reserve soldier who can be called up to serve only in wartime. This department not only gives exemption from military service, but is also beneficial in that it is able to become the second profession of a graduate, on a par with the main specialty received at a university. In addition, recently there has been a tendency when employers are happy to hire employees who also have a non-civilian profession.

How to get to the military department

Naturally, in order to study at this department, you first need to become a student of an educational institution that has this unit. It is extremely difficult to enroll in such universities, since there are only 37 of them in Russia, instead of 226 in 2008. Therefore, the demand for education in them among applicants is quite high and, as a result, the passing score is higher than in other institutions.

In order to enter the "military", you need to go through a medical examination and collect a package of documents. At this stage, some applicants are eliminated due to the hassle of admission, forgetting that later in the army they will spend much more time. The list of documents that the department management will accept for consideration looks like this:

  • passport and photocopies of its 1, 2, 3 and 4 pages;
  • a certificate of a Russian citizen subject to service in the armed forces and its photocopy;
  • a photocopy of the temporary registration document (if necessary);
  • record book;
  • four photographs of 3 × 4 format.

These documents are attached to the application on the standard form, which is issued by the military department. The application must be endorsed by the head of the department of physical training (about the student's physical readiness) and by the dean of the faculty (recommendation for military training). The student receives a referral for preliminary selection to the military registration and enlistment office at the place of registration. On the preliminary selection are estimated:

  1. Physical training, in accordance with which the conscript is determined by the group of fitness for service: "A" - good, "B" - good with restrictions.
  2. Psychological selection, where the category of aptitude is established - 1, 2 or 3. The rest of the categories are eliminated.
  3. Applicant compliance necessary conditions for military service (for example, no criminal record).

After that, persons who have passed preliminary events are allowed to the main selection, which is carried out by a special commission of the Ministry of Defense. At this stage, the requirements are stricter:

  • physical training (sprint and stayer running, pull-ups);
  • training (level of knowledge in the main type of training);
  • those who have the right of preferential enrollment (orphans, children of military personnel and pupils Suvorov schools and cadet corps).

After that, students who have successfully passed this most difficult stage of selection are included in the competition list, which the chairman of the commission gives to the rector with a recommendation to admit the listed children to classes. Those who were dissatisfied with the decision of the commission have the right to challenge it in the form of an appeal within three days.

Features of study

The military department, although it is a fairly independent unit, but for a student it should be associated with studies in the main specialty. In different universities, they look differently at the passes of the "military" (it all depends on the interaction between the military and the main one), however, it should be borne in mind that expulsion from the "native" department automatically means dismissal from the second. After that, former student there is only one way left - to the military registration and enlistment office during the next draft.

In many educational institutions, the passage of the military department can also be based on a paid basis, which implies more serious rules than those of state employees. For example, they are able to bring the conditions as close as possible to the passage of active service, which can result in strict requirements for outward appearance(short hair, lack of all kinds of jewelry - earrings, piercings, etc.).

In any case, while attending these classes, students should understand that high self-discipline, responsibility and the ability to follow the instructions of their commanders are highly valued here. And the end of the class is crowned with a training camp, during which future reserve officers demonstrate their skills achieved during the course. Those who have successfully passed the training camp are issued a document stating that they have graduated from the military department. After that, the students are assigned officer ranks, and they are registered in the reserve.

Girls at the military department

From the point of view of Russian legislation, women do not have any obligations to the state in terms of the necessity of military service. Yes, and public opinion towards the fairer sex who wish to devote themselves to the army, as it has historically developed, is rather skeptical. However, any student may well enter the department and master any non-civilian specialty.

The military department is an opportunity to receive the rank of lieutenant in reserve while studying at a university and not go to the army after studying. But the graduates of the military training center cannot avoid service.

Now there are military departments in only 35 educational institutions, and in 33 universities, military departments have been transformed into military training centers (UEC).

What is the difference? Graduates of military departments not subject to conscription for military service. UHC alumni are required to serve three years under a contract... If military service is not a dream of your whole life, try not to confuse the military department with the UVC when choosing a university.

Military specialties

As a rule, the military specialty is closely related to the civilian specialty that the student receives, and depends on the profile of his training.

For example, St. Petersburg State University ITMO offers four military specialties: "Missile armament of the Navy", "Torpedo armament of the Navy", "Technologies of information protection", "Artillery and optical-electronic weapons". Students of the Faculty of World Politics at Moscow State University are trained in the military accounting specialty "Organization of psychological struggle". At the military department of the Moscow State Linguistic University, they receive the specialty " Foreign language"With the qualification" military translator ", at the military department of MGIMO - specialty" Linguistic support of military activities ", etc.

Army service - will they be called up or not?

After graduating from the military department, you will receive the rank of reserve officer. You won't have to serve in the army.

Previously, it was different - some of the graduates of the military department were drafted into the army in the officer rank. Now this norm has been canceled: reserve officers are not subject to conscription.

The procedure for conscription for military service is determined by the Regulations on the conscription of citizens of the Russian Federation, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation of November 11, 2006 No. 663 with amendments and additions dated May 20, 2014. In the latest version of this document, section III “The procedure for conscription into military service of citizens of the Russian Federation enrolled in the reserve with the assignment military rank officer ".

But this is only true for the military department.

Military training centers are a completely different story. Students who graduated from the UHC:

  • study at the full-time department of the university;
  • be a citizen of the Russian Federation;
  • be under the age of 30;
  • not have an unexpunged or outstanding criminal record;
  • be fit for military service for health reasons or fit with minor restrictions (fitness groups A and B);
  • meet the professional and psychological requirements that apply to specific military registration specialties;
  • successfully pass the setting standards for physical fitness.
  • Some universities set additional conditions (for example, good academic performance). It is better to find out the specific requirements on the VK of your university.
  • conclude a contract for three years or for five years the day after graduation and are sent to the army with the rank of lieutenant;
  • if they refuse to conclude a contract, they are obliged to serve in the army as usual, as well as reimburse the funds spent on their training at the UVC.

If you do not want unpleasant surprises, find out whether the university you have chosen really has a military department, or whether it has been disbanded and turned into an UHC. Even on the websites of universities there is outdated information: military training centers are called military departments. Don't mix it up!

Advantages of the military department

  • you do not need to do military service in the army with the rank of private;
  • additional specialty;
  • the rank of reserve officer;
  • habit of discipline.

In addition, students who study at the military department receive a supplement to the scholarship:

  • those who did not serve on the draft - 15% of the scholarship;
  • those who have already served on the draft - 25% of the scholarship.

Cons of the military department

Extra school day. Usually, one day a week is allocated for classes on VK in the schedule (eight to nine academic hours). However, not in all universities this day is a day off for students who do not study at VK. For them, other classes can be arranged - in medical training or life safety.

Discipline the military department is usually stricter than the university average. The teachers there are career officers. They are not too lenient about absenteeism and being late. The case may well end with expulsion from the department.

As a rule, VK has appearance requirements students. Usually piercings, jewelry, tattoos not covered with clothes, etc. are not allowed. You will have to have a short haircut, and come to classes clean-shaven, in a suit and tie (on some VCs - in uniform).

Military fees. On the summer vacation after the last semester on VK, you will have a month of training camps in the military unit.
