Day of air defense troops in russia and belarus. Day of the Air Defense Forces of Belarus When is the Day of Air Defense in Belarus

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 157 of March 26, 1998, every year on the second Sunday of April, the Day of the Anti-Troops is celebrated. air defense... Today, in the Belarusian army, air defense troops perform tasks as part of a single service Armed Forces countries - Air Force and Troops air defense.

The Air Force and Air Defense Forces are on alert every day. The servicemen tirelessly monitor the observance by aircraft of the order and rules for using the airspace of our country, they do not stop improving their professional training.

Within the framework of military cooperation between the two allied states, on February 3, 2009, an Agreement was signed on the creation of a Unified Regional Air Defense System. This significantly increased the effectiveness of air defense and military security of both the Republic of Belarus and the Union State as a whole. A unified regional air defense system is not only an adequate measure to effectively counter possible threats to the Union State in the military sphere, but also a powerful deterrent against attempts to talk to us from a position of strength, and serves to preserve peace on the territory of the Allied States.

Unfortunately, today, without a strong and reliable air defense system, no state, including Belarus, can ensure its security in the air. Therefore, the President and the Government of the Republic of Belarus, despite the economic difficulties, are doing everything possible to maintain the country's air defense at the proper level.

Currently, priority is given to the modernization of weapons and military equipment of the air defense forces, the purchase of modern anti-aircraft missile systems.

Domestic enterprises have developed and delivered to the troops automated control systems "Bor", "Polyana-RB", "Rif-R". As part of the 120th anti-aircraft missile brigade, a full-fledged division of the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system has been created, which has shown its high efficiency in the course of combat training activities. The 377th Guards Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment entered service with two S-300 anti-aircraft missile divisions. The radio-technical troops continue to receive the modern Rosa radar station and the Vostok-D radar system of domestic production. The purchase of new radar stations is planned.

Formations and military units of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces are equipped with everything necessary - this is confirmed by the results of various exercises and trainings. A striking example is last year's joint exercise with live firing "Combat Commonwealth - 2015", during which the combat crews of the 15th and 120th anti-aircraft missile brigades showed excellent results.

In January 2016, the 740th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade underwent a test of the ability to perform tasks as intended. More than 100 servicemen were called up from the reserve, a tactical exercise with live firing of an anti-aircraft missile battalion was conducted at the 174th training ground of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces. The results of the check showed that the brigade is capable of performing the assigned tasks.

The air defense troops, performing their tasks as part of a single service of the Armed Forces, have been, are and will remain a reliable shield of the air lines of our Motherland. They are famous for their established traditions reflecting the specifics of training and combat activities. This is, first of all, constant combat readiness, high vigilance, steadfastness while on alert, the ability to strike an air enemy, no matter what techniques and innovations he uses.

Modern conflicts take place with the participation of aviation. Its use provides a number of advantages over other means, allowing reconnaissance, delivering high-precision strikes, landing manpower, weapons and provisions. There are special units to counter aircraft. A professional holiday is dedicated to them.

When celebrate

Air Defense Day is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of April. In 2020, it falls on April 12 and is not a national holiday. About the profession

Military personnel of the air defense forces are engaged in the control of the country's airspace. For this, radars, radar stations, and friend-or-foe recognition systems are used. If an intruder is identified, he is intercepted by a link of fighters for escorting to landing or being expelled from the border. In some cases, it is allowed to shoot down aircraft. For this, missiles, anti-aircraft installations are used.

Career begins with military service or training in a specialized educational institution Ministry of Defense. The graduate must have tactical training, know the principles of operation and the device of equipment, be able to handle it, while fulfilling the standards. In wartime, air defense units are the primary target of the enemy and are relatively easy to identify.

Air Defense Forces Day in Belarus was established by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 157 in March 1998, but they began to celebrate it back in Soviet times. The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1975 decided: "For the great merits of the Air Defense Forces during the war years and for the fulfillment of especially important tasks by them in peacetime, celebrate this day on the second Sunday of April every year".

It was in April 1975 that the most important government decrees on the organization of air defense were adopted. Military historians still continue to argue about what is considered the date of birth of the Russian air defense forces, but it is known for sure that as soon as air attack weapons appeared, the question of air defense immediately arose.

As an independent branch of the armed forces, the air defense forces were created in the fall of 1941. After the Republic of Belarus gained state sovereignty and created its own Armed Forces in 1992, the Air Defense Forces were formed. At the end of 2001, at the final stage of reforming the Armed Forces, a decision was made to form a single service - the Air Force and Air Defense Forces.

The air defense units of Belarus are armed with modern anti-aircraft missile systems, new generation automated control systems created by the domestic military-industrial complex, as well as the MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters modernized at Belarusian enterprises.

Since 1995 Belarus has been a member of the Common Air Defense System of the CIS countries. In addition, for 10 years now, the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus have been on joint combat duty with the forces and means of the air defense of the Russian Federation. Every year, the crews of the Belarusian anti-aircraft missile systems S-300, "Buk" and others have the opportunity to conduct live firing at the ranges of Russia.

April 13, 2014 marks one of the professional holidays of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus - the Day of the Air Defense Forces.

For the first time, the Day of Air Defense Forces was celebrated on the eve of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, in accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 20, 1975.

Giving the Air Defense Forces Day status professional holiday became a recognition of the role of air defense soldiers in defending the air lines of the USSR.

Today, the heirs of the glorious traditions of air defense soldiers are the military personnel of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces.

The history of the air defense forces of our state begins in the fall of 1941, when, in accordance with the directive of the People's Commissar of the USSR of November 2, 1941, the 5th Air Defense Division was formed in Kuibyshev, which later became the ancestor of the 2nd separate air defense army of the Republic of Belarus.

The acquisition of state sovereignty by the Republic of Belarus and the formation of an independent state put on the agenda the need to create its own Armed Forces.

As part of this process, in accordance with the resolution of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus on the creation of the Armed Forces of March 16, 1992, the 2nd Air Defense Army was reorganized into the command of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.

On November 8, 2001, a decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus approved the decision on the formation of a single service of the Armed Forces - the Air Force and Air Defense Forces.

V modern conditions air defense warriors occupy a worthy place in the security system of our state. They were, are and will remain a reliable shield of the air lines of our Motherland.

In the course of combat training, they improve professional training officers of military control bodies, tactical and special training of troops, are mastered effective ways combating existing and prospective air attack weapons.

The last year was tense for the service of the Armed Forces, in which it was possible to solve many tasks to increase the combat readiness of formations and military units, empowerment in general.

One of the main tasks of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces is to be on alert.

The personnel involved in combat duty daily exercise control over the flights of aircraft in the airspace of the Republic of Belarus. Most of them are transit and represent both state and private airlines. different countries the world, while their number can reach more than 1300 per day.

Participation in command and staff training with command and control bodies and air defense duty forces of the joint air defense system of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which have been conducted since 1995, with a real indication of the air situation, also contributes to the qualitative solution of combat duty tasks. Duty combat crews, command posts, weapons and military equipment carrying air defense combat duty are involved in training, aviation is actively involved. To date, 14 such trainings have already been conducted.

Interaction in the field of air defense has been and remains one of the most important and priority areas of cooperation between the CIS member states in the military sphere.

Since 1996, tactical exercises with live firing of formations and units of the air defense forces of the Republic of Belarus have been organized at Russian ranges.

Live fire results and high level preparation of combat crews created the preconditions for the further development of forms of cooperation within the framework of the joint air defense system.

This development was given concrete expression during the "Combat Commonwealth-98" exercise, when joint tactical exercises with live firing of units and subunits of the Air Defense Forces of the Republic of Belarus, the Air Defense Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Air Defense Forces of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and Air Force Russian Federation.

In total, over 90 anti-aircraft missile battalions of various types and modifications of air defense systems, 75 crews of fighter, assault and bomber aircraft took part in the joint exercises "Combat Commonwealth" since 1998.

The common air defense system of the Commonwealth is an important component of the Collective Security Treaty, which has found its practical embodiment and has real and long-term prospects.

In the current military-political situation, in order to ensure regional security in the military sphere, the Republic of Belarus and Russian Federation carry out a joint defensive policy, one of the directions of which is to improve the functioning of the regional grouping of troops (forces). An important element of the regional grouping of troops (forces), already functioning in peacetime, is the Unified Regional Air Defense System of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

A unified regional air defense system is an adequate measure that makes it possible to practically balance the possible threats to the Republic of Belarus and the Union State in the military sphere, and in the future, it can serve as the basis for a promising global system of aerospace defense of the CSTO.

The most important area of improving the Air Force and Air Defense Forces is the development of weapons and equipment.

Special attention is paid to the issues of modernization of weapons and military equipment with their focus on new technologies, taking into account the capabilities of the state's defense-industrial complex.

The priority direction of the development of weapons and military equipment in the near future will remain the modernization of the main models, both aviation equipment and equipment of anti-aircraft missile and radio engineering troops.

In December 2012, a contract was signed for the supply of Yak-130 aircraft to the Air Force and Air Defense Forces in 2015, which will significantly expand the possibilities for training flight personnel. Three batteries of the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system, new for the Belarusian army, entered service with the 120th anti-aircraft missile brigade of the Western Operational-Tactical Command. Also, work is underway to purchase simulators for the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system and a Mi-8 helicopter.

This year, the Vostok-D radar station took up combat duty on the air defense of the Republic of Belarus as part of one of the subdivisions of the 49th radio technical brigade of the Air Force SZOTK and the air defense troops.

"Vostok-D" makes it possible to significantly update the fleet of means of radio engineering troops in service with radio engineering units.

The station replenishes the lineup of new and modernized radar stations already in service, such as the Rosa-RB radar station and the modernized P-18BM and PRV-16 BM radars.

Radar station "Rosa-RB" is also the development of KB "Radar". The station is designed to detect low-flying targets. Working in automatic mode, it is capable of detecting and recognizing air targets at an altitude of one meter above the ground in a radius of up to 50 km, detecting not only manned, but also unmanned aerial vehicles.

The modernized P-18BM and PRV-16 BM radars, due to the use of modern technical solutions, made it possible to increase the accuracy characteristics, the level of protection against active and passive interference, and the operational reliability of these stations to the level of modern radars. Almost all modernization works are carried out at the enterprises of the Republic of Belarus.

In order to restore the resource of weapons and military equipment, overhaul of a number of samples of aviation equipment, weapons of anti-aircraft missile and radio-technical troops is carried out.

The arrival of new and modernized models of equipment and weapons in the Air Force and Air Defense Forces makes it possible to significantly expand the capabilities of formations and military units to perform high-quality combat duty tasks in air defense.

Today, the Air Force and Air Defense Forces occupy a worthy place in the system of ensuring the security of the Fatherland, demonstrating a high level of professionalism, coherence and ability to act in any conditions of the situation.

Military aviation is most of the army, which participates in modern conflicts, protects countries from the penetration of outsiders, ensures a safe life for citizens. In service with aviation today there are means that allow reconnaissance, deliver accurate strikes against opponents, use paratroopers, etc. Special units that are ready at any time to take off in the air to protect the state and its borders also have powerful support from the air defense ... The importance of these troops is so great that they have their own holiday. It has a flexible date - Air Defense Forces Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in April. The next time this date falls on the eighth.

history of the holiday

The history of air defense, as a special type of armed support in the defense of the state, goes back several decades. In December 1914, the first units equipped with machine guns and light cannons appeared to fight German and Austrian airplanes.

The beginning of this holiday was laid back in Soviet times, in 1975. Then, in February, a decree was issued that regulated the activities of the air defense forces. For many years, representatives of this unit were honored not at the state level - it was more of a tradition. But in 2006 the situation changed.

By order of the head of state, the celebration became official. A specific day was set - April was chosen for the reason that this month many changes were adopted in the laws that strengthened the position of the air defense forces. This day is celebrated both by the current participants of the system and by those people who have not had any relation to it for a long time - a lot of attention is paid to veterans.
